Kurd and Syrian factions battle each other on Manchester's Curry Mile
A man was stabbed and cars and businesses were smashed up as fights broke out between groups of people of Syrian and Kurdish heritage in Manchester this week.At least four people arrested after hundreds descended on the city's iconic Curry Mile for a second night of protests on Wednesday.Disorder first broke out on Tuesday following a protest in the Rusholme area of the city, with police putting in place a Section 34 dispersal order.The next day around around 300 people attended a peaceful protest in Exchange Quay.But as the event came to an end, a 23-year-old man was stabbed and rushed to hospital. His injuries were not life-threatening, and in an update on Thursday, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said that no arrests had yet been made.Disorder also broke out in a separate incident on Wednesday, with footage from around 11pm on Wilmslow Road showing large numbers of officers at the scene.
