Teignmouth Grand Pier partly collapses as Storm Ingrid lashes South Devon

A historic pier is washed away by raging seas whipped up by Storm Ingrid. The end of Teignmouth Grand Pier in South Devon collapsed during a night of fierce storms. Teignmouth Mayor Kate Williams said the seaside town had taken a real battering, and part of the ageing pier, which opened in 1867, had been washed away.
