2018: Meghan Markle 'fluffs' her lines in first speech as a working royal
Less than two months after Meghan Markle became engaged to Prince Harry, she faced a rather tricky blunder during her first public speech as a royal-to-be.At the esteemed 2018 Endeavour Fund Awards which seeks to recognise the work of the Armed Forces Community, the appearance was almost thrown into complete disarray when Meghan 'fluffed' her lines onstage due to a behind the scenes mishap. When Meghan headed to the stage at London's Goldsmiths Hall to present the Celebrating Excellence Award with last year's winner Neil Heritage, the royal-to-be oozed confidence as she expressed how 'truly privileged' she felt to be there. 'The second prize of the evening is awarded to an individual who has endeavoured to achieve excellence in their chosen sport or adventures challenge,' said Meghan. The future Duchess then handed the microphone over to Mr Heritage, a British Army veteran, who unfortunately struggled to find the next line in the all-important script.
