Starmer defends Beijing trip as 'in UK's national interest'

President Xi Jinping told Sir Keir Starmer there had been too many 'twists and turns' in relations between their countries as the two met for landmark talks. China's leader told the Prime Minister that more dialogue was 'imperative' for the sake of 'world peace and stability' as well as their economies.
