Huge landslip hits Dorset's Jurassic Coast, blocking popular coastal path

A huge landslip has struck Britain's Jurassic Coast in Dorset, weeks after a 300ft-long crack appeared. Thousands of tonnes of rock and mud slumped onto Charmouth beach, taking with it a section of the South West Coastal Path. Experts say weeks of relentless rain caused the dramatic movement in the 175-million-year-old cliffs, and coastguards are warning the public, especially fossil hunters, to avoid the base as another slip could happen at any time.
