Married couple dies in Texas plane crash though beloved dog survives

Married couple Ron and Barbara Timmermans have died in an East Texas plane crash, though their beloved dog survived the crash. The couple reported engine trouble on their flight to visit family, before apparently diverting to a nearby landing strip and clipping power lines on their approach due to 'oil on the windshield.' They crashed by Echo Lake, just short of the landing strip.
