A guest on This Morning broke down in tears as she opened up on losing her life savings to a cowboy builder who left her home in ruins. Dermot O'Leary was left scrambling to comfort her, offering tissues and support, as Yvonne Elliott revealed how she lost £14,000 to the builder. Yvonne had saved up for over a decade to have a 3m x 6m extension added to her living room at her home in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The pensioner was approached by the builder who at the time was carrying out work in her neighbour's garden - who made her an offer last June, which she declined saying she needed time to think about it. However, days later, the builder knocked on her door holding a contract and said he could complete the work in three weeks if she agreed to it. Yvonne explained her life savings were taken away over two months, meanwhile the builder never completed the extension and left the back of her home in ruins.
