Moment prison officer ploughs into car with pregnant woman at 71mph

A prison officer ploughed into a car carrying a pregnant woman and her young family in a 71mph collision while gambling on his phone. Jack Bentley, 30, spent 'almost the entirety' of a two-hour drive playing games and placing online bets in his Ford Focus before the crash on April 6 last year. The woman, who was travelling with her partner, two children and dog, was rushed to hospital and had an emergency C-section at 33 weeks pregnant. Bentley was arrested at the scene and later admitted two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was jailed for two years and four months at Derby Crown Court on February 11 and banned from driving for three years and two months.
