Dangerous driver records and posts evidence of his own crime on Facebook

A dangerous driver helped to convict himself by posting footage of his crime on Facebook.Jack Slack filmed himself passing through a red traffic light at 70mph before continuing to speed through a town.The footage, which showed Slack overtaking other vehicles in a dangerous manner, was passed to police the Nottinghamshire Police Safety Camera Partnership by a member of the public on 30 October 2024.A police officer was then able to trace the exact time and location of the offence by matching Slack’s registered VW Polo to traffic data recorded at the time of the incident in Mansfield three days earlier.
