Moment Derby car-ramming suspect 'flees the scene'

CCTV footage captured the moment a driver allegedly ploughed into pedestrians in Derby city centre, leaving seven people seriously injured at around 9.30pm in the Friar Gate area last night. The black Suzuki Swift was seen racing away moments after the incident, while a silver car had passed at normal speed just before. A 36-year-old man from India was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, causing serious injury, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving. Witnesses rushed to assess the scene after the car sped off, with several people left lying on the ground.
