Catholic devotee is nailed to a cross in grim crucifixion re-enactment

A Catholic devotee was nailed to a cross before hundreds of spectators in a grisly re-enactment of the crucifixion of Jesus. The religious ceremony unfolds on Good Friday each year in the Philippines, in a small village just north of the capital Manila. Sixty five year old Ruben Enaje played the part of Christ, carrying the cross, and being kicked and mocked by people dressed as Roman soldiers lining the 'way of the cross'.
