Bridge to help badgers, snakes and toads cross busy A3 opens

The new 68-metre-long Cockcrow Bridge, which spans the A3 and reconnects two valuable and rare heathland areas has opened.The bridge, which is 30 metres wide, is the first to support lowland heathland habitats, one of Britain's rarest habitat types.It provides a safe crossing point for wildlife and people between Ockham Common and Wisley Common.
