'Let's get drunk!' Moment domestic abuse survivor discovers ex-partner jailed

Lucy Godley sobbed as her friends jumped around her in celebration as they came to share the verdict on her porch. The mother-of-two's former partner, Ben Siddle, 27, was found guilty of 10 accounts of domestic violence and sexual assault and has been jailed for 23 years. The string of charges included three counts of actual bodily harm, three counts of penetration, two counts of assault by beating, one count of witness intimidation and one count of criminal damage which took place between August 2021 and October 2023.
