Moment taxi driver overpowers shotgun-wielding kidnapper

This is the moment a taxi driver wrestles with a shotgun-wielding hostage taker inside his cab before police officers detain the suspect after a lengthy chase through city streets. The dashcam footage shows the incident in the city of Gaziantep, in the Turkish province of Gaziantep, on 10th May. Video filmed inside the taxi shows the driver being made to drive by the gunman, wielding a pump-action shotgun, before eventually turning towards the back seat and grabbing the suspect's weapon as police surround the vehicle at a junction. Officers can then be seen pulling the suspect from the vehicle and taking him into custody. According to reports, the hostage-taker, named only as Semih C., 31, allegedly forced taxi driver Ramazan Yildirim, 58, to drive towards Gaziantep while threatening him with the shotgun as a woman named as Gulbahar Y., 36, sat beside him in the rear of the cab.
