'Like I was in a soap': Boyfriend of teacher accused of baby murder

A jury was shown an interview with John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, whose boyfriend Jamie Varley, 37, is accused of sexual abuse and murder of baby boy Preston Davey.The couple had adopted the 13-month old but he died in hospital after becoming 'limp' and 'unresponsive' at their home.McGowan-Fazakerley said in the police interview that when they reached hospital, Jamie was running around like a 'headless chicken' and nurses were trying to calm him down.Varley denies sexual offences and murder and McGowan-Fazakerley McGowan-Fazakerley denies allowing the death of a child, three counts of child cruelty and one count of the sexual assault of a child.The trial continues.
