Ex-karate champion who helped steal £70,000 Patek Philippe is jailed

A former karate champion who helped to swipe a £70,000 Patek Philippe from a Canadian businessman in Mayfair has been jailed - after he tried to flee the country.Zine Telli, 34, will spend three years behind bars for his role in the theft of Axel Schwan's luxury watch in London on June 30, 2024.Mr Schwan, the regional president of Canadian coffeehouse business Tim Hortons, had been holidaying in the United Kingdom with his wife on the day of the crime.CCTV footage shows the pair strolling along New Bond Street before a thief wearing a cap creeps up behind them and swipes the Patek Philippe from Mr Schwan's wrist.
