England fans who went to Mexico in 1986 and never returned set to be reunited
They were young men in their twenties when, down on their luck and out of work, they decided to travel to Mexico to watch their beloved England. Only they never returned home after the Three Lions were knocked out of the 1986 World Cup and stayed in Mexico before settling in the US. Now, 40 years on, the group are to reunite at this summer's tournament in North America when they watch England take on Croatia in their opening game in Dallas on June 17.Their extraordinary story is now the subject of an online documentary called Lost Down Mexico Way which follows the men's adventures over the years, and their friendship that has endured through four decades.Gary Allen, Stuart Bates, David Arnold and Garry Hardwicke were among a group of young men who flew 5,000 miles to follow the Three Lions four decades ago.
