Supreme Court rules legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex

JK Rowling has welcomed a landmark judgment by the Supreme Court ruling that the definition of a woman is based on biological sex. Lord Hodge said five Supreme Court justices had unanimously decided 'the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act refer to a 'biological woman and biological sex'.
