Gunman who killed 23 in racist attack avoids death penalty with plea deal

Patrick Crusius, the gunman who killed twenty three people in a racist attack at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas has plead guilty to capital murder and been sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole. His accepting of a plea agreement from Texas prosecutors ends six years of efforts to punish him with the death penalty by state and federal authorities.
