'Asian Francis' among the frontrunners to replace late Pope Francis

Following the death of Pope Francis, the world is now eagerly waiting for his successor to be named - as the College of Cardinals prepare to meet in conclave to pick the next Pope. Among the frontrunners is Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Phillippines, who has been dubbed 'Asian Francis' because he shares many of the late Pope's more liberal views - including his stance on gay rights. This has led the LGBTQ+ community to champion the 67-year-old's candidacy ahead of the secretive voting process that will decide who will become the Bishop of Rome.
