Nearly month's worth of rain falls in one hour in England yesterday afternoon

Britons are set to enjoy another week of wall-to-wall sunshine after some areas were deluged by nearly a month's worth of rain in just one hour. Lightning strikes, heavy showers and hail lashed central and southern England yesterday afternoon after the Met Office imposed a yellow thunderstorm warning. Ten flood alerts have now been issued by the Environment Agency including seven for rivers in the West Midlands as well as two in Hertfordshire and one in Oxfordshire.
