Rioting erupts in Salford as 'masked youths' set fire to car and assault officer

Riots have reportedly erupted in Salford after a gang of youths set a vehicle on fire and assaulted a police officer.Dozens of youths have reportedly caused chaos on Lower Broughton Road this afternoon after several vehicles, including a police car, have been wrecked and at least one was set on fire.Pictures from the scene show the smouldering wreckage of one car, while several others have had their bodywork dented and windscreens smashed in.
