Heartbreaking final words of 13-year-old trapped in a mudslide after volcanic eruption. On November 13, 1985, the Nevado del Ruiz volcano erupted in Colombia, killing some 70 per cent of the population of the town of Armero. Among them was 13-year-old Omayra Sánchez Garzón. The child became trapped under a door and spent three days half buried in water, helpless, before dying of exposure.
