TikTok influencer Adam Aleksic is a Harvard-educated etymologist who has been posing online since 2023 and has become known for his informal yet educational clips explaining the origins of new slang. In his new book, Algospeak: How Social Media Is Transforming the Future of Language Adam unpicks the newest words which he says grow in popularity online. In a recent interview with The New York Times , Adam said: 'The more I looked into it, the more I realized that algorithms are really affecting every aspect of modern language change.'
