Hundreds of Spanish locals take to streets for anti-tourism protest

Hundreds of fed up locals tonight joined a fresh anti-tourism protest in Spain - telling British holidaymakers to 'go home' and that 'we are not your theme park.' The demonstration took place in the centre of Alicante city, during the height of the holiday season. Demonstrators held up placards reading 'refugees welcome, tourists go home' and 'your tourism, our misery'. One sign read: 'Depending on tourism only brings more poverty, inequality and less of a future.'
