Horned 'Frankenstein' animals appear as rare virus spreads among wildlife

A rare virus, known as the cottontail papilloma virus, is causing Colorado rabbits to grow horn-like black growths on their faces, turning them into grotesque 'Frankenstein' creatures. Spread mainly by mosquitoes and ticks, officials warn residents to avoid contact with infected animals.
