Putin and Trump meet at Alaska Summit to Discuss Ukraine conflict

History was made in Alaska last night as Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin flew in to discuss the future of Ukraine.Speaking at the summit, Putin described the conflict as a "tragedy" and a "terrible wound," insisting that Russia views Ukraine as a "brotherly nation" despite the war. He stressed that Moscow is genuinely interested in finding a resolution but argued that peace would only be possible if what he called the "root causes" of the conflict were addressed."We're convinced that in order to make the settlement lasting and long-term, we need to eliminate all the primary causes of this conflict," Putin said. He repeated Russia's demand that its "legitimate security concerns" be taken into account and called for a "just balance of security" across Europe and the wider world.
