Blundering thief caught during police chase after stealing cricket club roller

A blundering thief was caught after leading police on a low-speed chase, aboard a cricket club's pitch roller. Leon Mitchell, 21, took the slow-moving 6mph roller, used for flattening wickets, and drove it for two miles after breaking into a village cricket club. Police were alerted by a string of puzzled passers-by who spotted Mitchell trundling along on the roller while holding a bottle of wine.
