John Swinney has been accused of 'gross insensitivity' after defending his decision to demand recognition of the Palestinian state at a vigil for victims of the October 7 Hamas attacks. The First Minister yesterday doubled down on his comments despite being booed by a furious crowd following his speech at the vigil outside the Scottish parliament at the weekend. But Tory Shadow Scottish Secretary Andrew Bowie said: 'It was completely inappropriate for the First Minister to use the words he used at the service on Sunday.
