The Louvre re-opens to tourists for first time since dramatic jewellery heist

A group of four criminals swiped eight items from the world's most visited museum at around 9.30am local time on Sunday in one of the most jaw-dropping public robberies ever. It has been feared that the thieves - who dropped the priceless Eugénie Crown as they fled the scene - may already have broken the gems down in an attempt to sell them off. Around 100 investigators are now involved in the major hunt for the suspects and the gems, which were nabbed from the museum in broad daylight.
