NASA's X-59 supersonic jet finishes first successful test flight

NASA's supersonic jet, the X-59 or 'Son of Concorde', completed its first test flight on October 28. Built by Lockheed Martin, the 100-foot aircraft flew for an hour in California, reaching 12,000 feet. It's designed to hit 925mph and could one day cut London-New York flights to under four hours.
