King Charles appeared visibly moved by a heartfelt rendition of God Save the King at the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance.More than 5,000 people sang the British national anthem in the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night to mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War .The monarch, 76, was then treated to three cheers from the Armed Forces.Charles looked grateful as he waved to the crowd which contained veterans who had helped to plan D Day, been prisoners of war and survived direct hits at sea.The national anthem followed a two-minute silence to honour the fallen during which poppy petals fell delicately from the ceiling.The royal family play a key role in the Festival of Remembrance. The event is organised by the Royal British Legion - of which King Charles was made patron last year.It was also a memorable night for Prince George who made his debut at the Festival of Remembrance alongside the Princess of Wales .
