NYPD says a man was fatally shot after firing gun at officers in UES.

NYPD Chief of Patrol, Philip Rivera, says NYPD officers shot and killed a man on the Upper East Side after he threatened to shoot up Mount Sinai Hospital. Rivera, says the man was approached on Madison Avenue between 96th and 95th Street by multiple NYPD officers. The man immediately discharges the firearm at the approaching officers with people getting off the bus. The officers return fire and kill the man.
