Cowboy plumbing courses lasting just five days are preparing beginners for immediate emergency call outs - and how to fleece unsuspecting customers. The organisers boast they have helped thousands of students with no experience to start work the day after completing the £395 'training' and earn hundreds of pounds an hour fixing leaks and repairing broken toilets. And half the course is devoted to sales rather than plumbing and teaching 'golden tips and tricks' for how to 'upsell', a thinly disguised euphemism for overcharging customers, an undercover Mail investigation found.
