This is the moment a veteran surfer is engulfed by a giant wave before being rescued and rushed to shore by fellow big-wave riders after they manage to locate him in the choppy waters.Brazilian surfer Carlos Burle, 58, was surfing a massive break in the town of Nazare, in the Portuguese district of Leiria, on 3rd December, when he was hit by the powerful wave.Carlos was later brought to shore, where he was laid on the sand and attended to by rescue staff and firefighters with oxygen.In a social media post he told fans he was 'safe and stable' after being taken to hospital.
