Ecuador international footballer Mario Pineida has been shot dead at age 33. Pineida was killed by attackers who pulled up on motorbikes before opening fire at him, his mother and another woman, according to local reports. Pineida, who played for his country nine times between 2014 and 2021, was killed in Guayaquil on Wednesday in the north of the city.
