Labour peer Baroness Kennedy and former Conservative Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith joined a group of Uighur activists and community members outside the Foreign Office demanding a meeting with Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.The protest comes following reports that Uighur region (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region) governor Erkin Tuniyaz, who has been sanctioned by the US, will be travelling to the UK and meeting Foreign Office officials.
