Economist Grant Fitzner: Food inflation hit highest annual rate in four decades

ONS Chief Economist Grant Fitzner says food inflation has hit the new highest annual rate in 45 years. As of April, food inflation increased to 19.1% from 18% in 2021. Prices are being driven by high energy costs and weather disruptions.
