Crews work to remove felled Sycamore Gap tree off historic Roman wall by crane

A crane was used to lift the 50ft tree off the historic Roman wall, before it is removed from the area and put into safe storage at a trust site. Northumbria Police arrested two people. They have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
