Fossilised molar from human child dating back 54,000 years uncovered in France

The earliest evidence of modern humans in western Europe has been found in a French cave in the form of a child's molar dating back 54,000 years. The discovery was made in the 'Grotte Mandrin', 1.5 miles south of Malataverne, in the Rhône Valley.
