Putin calls for Russia's neighbours to 'not escalate the situation'

President Vladimir Putin urged Russia's neighbours on 'not to escalate tensions', eight days after the invasion of Ukraine began. He said 'there are no bad intentions' and that all of Russia's moves are 'a response to unfriendly actions'.
