3D modelling of 4bn-year-old rock shows markings 'made by bacteria'

A new study led by UCL researchers has suggested that bacterial life forms existed on Earth between 3.75 and 4.28 billion years ago, after tiny filaments, knobs and tubes were found in a rock in Quebec estimated to be of that age.
