Russia says that over a thousand Ukrainian soldiers have surrendered in Mariupol

As the defence ministry issued its statement, Russian TV aired footage it said showed the Ukrainian marines surrendering in Mariupol. Ukrainian defense ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzyanyk said he had no information about it.
