Treasury chief secretary: Rail strikes are likely to proceed

Treasury chief secretary Simon Clarke said it is likely the rail strike will go ahead and it is not up to the Government to resolve the dispute. Train and Tube services will be crippled by strikes in bitter disputes over pay, jobs and conditions.
