BBC television highs as the public broadcaster celebrates 100 years
The BBC is celebrating 100 years it was formed in 1922. Television arrived in 1936, with the Queen's Coronation in 1953 spurring on the new emerging technology. Blue Peter, Doctor Who and Top of the Pops arrived in 1958, 1963 and 1964.
