Cuba says unrest caused by American 'economic asphyxiation' during pandemic

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has blamed protests this weekend on US sanctions biting hard during the coronavirus pandemic, with sanctions exacerbating shortages of food and medicine as well as power outages amid a surge in COVID-19 infections.
