Elaine Thompson-Herah defended her 100m title in an Olympic record of 10.61s, to beat compatriots Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson. Only Florence Griffith-Joyner's world record of 10.49secs, set back in 1988, was a faster run.
