Shi'ites in Iraq mark the beginning of Ashura with self-flagellation

Shiite muslims in Baghdad and Kerbala marked today the beginning of Ashura, a celebration to commemorate the death of Imam Hussein, the grandson of prophet Mohammed. The celebration includes hitting their heads with swords and self-flagellation.
