Japanese PM Suga announces he will not run for party leadership next year

The Japanese prime minister Yoshihide Suga has announced that he will not run for the leadership of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party next year, paving the way for a leadership contest.His stated reason was to focus on the Covid-19 pandemic.
