WHO pays tribute to Henrietta Lacks and her stolen cancer cells

WHO scientists Dr. Soumya Swaminathan and Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus honored the late Henrietta Lacks, who died of cervical cancer in 1951. Her cancer cells were taken without her knowledge and paved the way for numerous scientific breakthroughs.
